Classroom Rules: Sr. DaCosta

2002-2003

 

1. Respect yourself and those around you.

Respect is having polite regard or consideration for yourself and others.

Demonstrate respect by:             Arriving on time to class

                                                Abiding by the school dress code (No hats…)

Bringing materials for class (books, notebooks, pen)

Working politely and productively with classmates

Complimenting others positively

Speaking only when allowed to do so

Being attentive during class

 

2. Always raise your hand to ask a question or make a comment and speak when given permission by the teacher. 

 

3. Demonstrate self-control at all times.

Self-control: control over one’s actions, feelings, etc.

Demonstrate self-control by following the previous guidelines, such as:             

                                                Raising hand to speak

                                                                        Paying attention during class

Speaking only when asked to do so

Completing assignments

 

4. Students will bring all required materials to class and will conduct all other business in between classes. This includes going to the bathroom and to lockers. No passes will be issued unless in case of an emergency.  I will give you a pass to see the nurse if you are feeling ill.

 

Every action in this classroom has a consequence. Appropriate actions have consequences that should please most of you. Inappropriate actions will have appropriate negative consequences ranging in severity.

 

Remember: You as a class and as an individual have the opportunity to create either a negative or a positive learning environment. Your actions as a class and as individuals will signal to the teacher and to others whether special privileges should or should not be given. YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THIS CLASSROOM.
